What products do you install and what is the difference between them?
We install both RetroFoam and Icynene. RetroFoam is injected into a cavity and is used on existing homes. Icynene is used on open areas mainly new construction, pole barns, rim joists and crawlspaces. There are different types of Icynene including closed cell.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
RetroFoam of Michigan offers a “LIFETIME WARRANTY” on both the material as well as the workmanship of the install to all customers that have their exterior walls installed with the RetroFoam product. This is a transferable warranty that is issued in the home address not the homeowners name meaning if you sell your home the warranty stays with the home. If you do sell your home please have the new owner contact us to update our records.
Can the estimator check to see if I have existing insulation in the walls now?

Yes. Your estimator can explain the options available to you.
How frequently spaced are the injection holes?
Generally holes are drilled in the middle of the home spaced about 16 inches on center.
How do the installers know if the cavity is completely full?
The unique nature of RetroFoam, a liquid form with the consistency of shaving cream when injected, allows it to flow around any obstacles, including water pipes and wiring, without getting caught up, filling the entire cavity. Your licensed RetroFoam installer is a professional and approaches every job in a tradesman like manner, by applying a combination of techniques including; timing the cavity fill, methodical placement of the insertion holes and with back-pressure on the insertion hole, he is able to ensure a cavity is full.
Can you remove and replace aluminum siding?
Yes, our installers do it every day.
Can you install RetroFoam on a brick home? How is this done?
Yes. The installers will drill a 5/8” hole in the mortar joints. They do NOT remove the bricks. The foam is injected into the holes and the holes are re-mortared upon completion. The crew will match the existing mortar the best they can.
Will RetroFoam cause a fire hazard in my home?
No. Even though there is intense heat, RetroFoam will not melt away. It will char, lose weight and volume but remain in place as foam. RetroFoam has a Class 1 Fire Rating.
What if I need to replace wiring in my home after installing RetroFoam?
Generally this isn’t a problem because the foam is pliable and the wire can be pushed (or fish- lined) through.
How long does the installation process take?
Most jobs are generally completed in 1 day.
